Strategic cooperation Agreement with Chinese Beijing Asiastars Electronic Technology Corporation

Metropolia University of Applied Sciences and Beijing Asiastars Electronic Technology Corporation (AET) have signed a strategic cooperation agreement.

AET is group with several companies. They are known from several industrial fields including automation solutions supply to automotive OEMs. AET has also experiences in providing engineering services for OEMs in its fields of expertise. The company's technical team can offer OEMs full turn-key solution services including an independent design, installation, and parts supply. One of AET's companies is specialized in developing electric vehicles in China and has obtained successful references in R&D and production of electric vehicles in China.

AET appreciates Metropolia's international reputation from various successful R&D projects during the last years. Electric supercar E-RA and Biofore ConceptCar are great references of Metropolia's capabilities. Both parties consider each other as excellent strategic partner in electric vehicle development.

“Metropolias car projects have now received international approval. The strategic cooperation with UPM will continue in a totally new level”, says Pekka Hautala, Director, Biofore ConceptCar project and director of Automotive and Mechanical Engineering Departments and Industrial Design. “We will have brand new challenges in our next project since our targets are in mass production vehicle technologies”, says Harri Santamala, Project Manager, Biofore ConceptCar.
