Year of community spirits

Metropolia´s annual report 2009 has been released.

The year 2009 was a busy one for Metropolia, as we consolidated our operations and fine-tuned our strategy. Metropolia laid the foundation for its responsible operations and its goal to become the most esteemed university of applied sciences in Finland and the learning community with the best ability to renew itself.

Last year, a total of 14,853 students were enrolled at Metropolia. The largest faculty was Technology, which had almost 7,500 students working towards a degree. A total of 1,987 professionals with a higher education degree graduated from Metropolia and enjoyed a high employment rate. The staff at Metropolia numbered 1,116.

Metropolia was also among the most attractive places to study in Finland. For every undergraduate study place, there were more than four first-choice applicants.

During the year, Metropolia’s staff and students determined the values guiding our operations, which are transparency, expertise, high quality and community spirits.
