Metropolia opens data

Helsinki Metropolia University of Applied Sciences has published open data interfaces in accordance with the Ministry of Finance's open data program. Open data interfaces can retrieve information of curricula, course units, course implementations and schedules. The aim is to expand the number of open data interfaces for other information sources in the future.

The society needs information in order to develop. The ideology of open data, for example, is to improve education, health care and economic growth with the help of accessible information. Open the data is one of the key principles of civil society. Open data will also contribute to the public sector, citizens, developers and other users of data. Also, the structure of financing encourages to open data: the data generated with public funds should be open for all.
