LOGY's scholarship to Metropolia’s business graduate

Business alumnus Victoria Maxim has received a scholarship for best Bachelor-level thesis in the field of logistics from the Finnish Association of Purchasing and Logistics LOGY. Maxim has graduated from the International Business and Logistics degree programme earlier this year. The subject of the thesis is "Less than a container load booking process". The thesis was instructed by lecturer Kaija Haapasalo.

Logy Prize Committee selects each year the best procurement/ logistics research, procurement / logistics thesis and procurement / logistics Bachelor's thesis. This year 14 Bachelor's theses pursued the scholarship. Winners were announced and awarded at the end of November at the LOGY annual meeting. Victoria Maxim got the Kari Litja -prize worth 1500 euros.

The work was commented by the prize committee as follows: "Transport costs are by no means as simple to estimate as often imagined. Nor is the booking and the organization of transport. In particular, if there is not a whole unit, but only a partial cargo to be transported. Victoria Maxim deals with a complex issue carefully and pragmatically and clarifies the matter. I recommend reading the thesis for everyone that ship or book partial loads."

The funds for the scholarships are granted by Logistiikan tutkimuksen edistämissäätiö (LTES).
