Information for New Students

Welcome to study for a degree at Metropolia!

The below information applies to students who have been accepted to study for a full degree at Metropolia. Make sure to complete all the steps in order to secure your study place.

Confirm the study place

To maintain your right to enrol in Metropolia UAS, you must complete the following three steps by 10 July 2018 at 3 pm (Finnish time +2 hrs GMT) or within 14 days of receiving notification of the decision:

  1. Confirm the study place by using the My Studyinfo -service. Please note that the confirmation is binding and cannot be changed after it has been received by Metropolia.

  2. Register as present or absent for the first academic year by using the My Studyinfo -service. Please note that a first-year student may register as absent for the academic year only if they have legal grounds for absence. For more information please see Absence on the First Year.

  3. Deliver copies of the following documents at https://elomake.metropolia.fi/lomakkeet/21112/lomake.html?rinnakkaislomake=ApplicationAttachmen

     

    Required documents 

    When admitted to a Bachelor’s degree programme

    Qualification completed in Finland:

    • Ammattitutkinnot
    • Erikoisammattitutkinnot
    • Ammatilliset perustutkinnot
    • Lukion päättötodistukset (required only if you have not completed the “ylioppilastutkinto”)

    International qualifications (of not delivered earlier in spring 2018):

    • European Baccalaureate diplomas
    • International Baccalaureate diplomas (IB certificates will not be accepted)
    • Reifeprüfung diplomas

    Legal grounds for absence:

    • Documents that prove the legal grounds for your absence (required only you have registered as absent for the first academic year).

    When admitted to a Master’s degree programme

    Qualification completed in Finland:

    • Korkeakoulututkinnot
    • Opisto-/ammatillisen korkea-asteen tutkinnot

    Work experience:

    • Official work certificates (CVs, work contracts, employee pension certificates or salary certificates will not be considered) proving you have the work experience you have mentioned on your application.

    Legal grounds for absence:

    • Documents that prove the legal grounds for your absence (required only you have registered as absent for the first academic year).
