Documents required by Metropolia can be submitted via the links on the tables below. A photo of the document taken with a mobile phone or camera is acceptable.

Links to the delivery form for application attachments are active only when application attachments can be delivered.

  • An applicant bears the responsibility of delivering all the required documents (required documents are described below) by the deadline. Possible delays or problems in getting the required certificates in time do not take away your responsibility of delivering all the required documents so that they are received by the by the deadline. Certificate copies will not be returned to applicants.
  • Application attachments must be delivered separately for each application. For example if an applicant has applied in spring 2017 and applies again in autumn 2017 he/she must deliver the required application attachments twice; for spring and again for autumn (application attachments will be considered only when processing the application in question).

  • Only final certificates awarded by national and regional bodies granting educational certificates will be accepted; temporary ones (e.g. transcripts, statements of results, scratch cards or provisional/temporary certificates etc.) will be disregarded.

  • It is not possible to apply to Bachelor’s degree programmes by using a higher education degree but the eligibility is given by a lower qualification such as general or vocational upper secondary qualification.

  • If you are a refugee or in a refugee-like situation in Finland and you cannot prove your qualification through documentary evidence, you can deliver a decision made by a competent authority concerning your refugee status instead. The applicant must submit a copy of the relevant decision to the admissions services of all the higher education institutions where he or she is applying.

  • As of the year 2017 an English language certificate is not required any more; English language skills will be tested at the entrance examination and it is compulsory for all applicants. Excellent skills in English are required for success in degree programmes provided in English.

  • Reiferprüfung Diploma

  • International matriculation examination (IB, EB, RP):= those graduating
    during the application period to submit a Predicted grades or equivalent
  • Finnish Matriculation Examinations
    (“ylioppilastutkinto”) completed before 1990
  • Decisions to grant asylum or residence permits issued on the
    basis of a need for protection of refugees or applicants in a
    refugee-like situation

  • European Baccalaureate Diploma completed in autumn 2017
  • International Baccalaureate Diploma completed in autumn 2017
  • Reifeprüfung Diploma completed in autumn 2017
  • Upper secondary school certificate, "lukion päättötodistus" (Please note: Finnish Matriculation examination certificates, "ylioppilastutkinto", completed after 1990 are not required)
  • Enrollment as absent: documents proving the legal grounds for the absence

  • Work certificates
  • Enrollment as absent: documents proving the legal grounds for the absence
 


Transfer application


Application attachments required when applying:

  • an up-to-date transcript of records
  • an up-to-date attendance registration certificate
  • a possible plan or official statements from the teachers regarding courses completed by 15 May / 15 November missing from the official study transcript
 
 


Open Path application


Application attachments required when applying:

  • an up-to-date transcript of records
  • a possible plan for studies that will be completed by 31 July/31 December
  • Master's degree: copies of at least three (3) years of work experience
  • Master's degree: a copy of an appropriate higher education degree
