European Management

This challenging programme leads to a double degree, which means that students receive two Bachelor's degrees on graduation from Metropolia Business School and our partner institution.

Aims

EM programme aims to give the student the practical tools and general knowledge required in business life. Gain a broad overview of general business fields such as marketing, accounting, economics, human resource management, law and the various functions of a company. Emphasis is also given to self-development, improving communication and language skills and performing effectively in the intercultural global world of today.

Studies

The first year study will be at Helsinki Metropolia University of Applied Sciences at the Myyrmäki Campus. We will give you the practical tools and general knowledge you need in real business life. You will gain a solid overview of general business fields such as marketing, accounting, economics, organisational management, law and European Union and know the various managerial functions of a company.

Depending on your choice the remaining study semesters vary in the set up of the programme for each institution. However the contents and level of study years remain similar for all partner institutions. Our double degree partners for EM programme are the Rennes International School of Business (France), Berlin School of Economics and Law (Germany) and University of Lincoln (UK). This programme has a work load of 210 ECTS which includes 30 ECTS of work placement and a 15 ECTS bachelor's thesis.

You will do a work placement as partial fulfilment of your degree programme. You are encouraged to do this abroad to enrich your international profile. In addition this gives you a chance to practice what you have learned and find the field you wish to specialize in. You select the majors of your choice at the Faculty of Business at one of our partner universities, where you can explore your options in the field of study you are interested in; finance, marketing, business studies, advertising, PR and management.

The final year gives you a valuable opportunity to apply the knowledge you acquire in your academic studies. At the end of the final year, you will graduate as a matured confident, effective team player with good hands-on business know-how and practical skills, a true asset for international companies in Finland and abroad. Joining this degree programme, you will join a multinational team of lecturers that are enthusiastic to share their knowledge.
