Objectives of Studies

The studies are focused on the design and implementation of network systems. The computer networks studies are based on the Cisco Networking Academy learning environment. The Cisco Networking Academy Program provides skills students need to work in IT fields. The program offers Web-based content, online assessment, hand-on labs, instructor training, and preparation for industry certifications.

Structure of Studies

The studies comprise of two modules.

Computer Networks

  • Local Area Networks (CCNA1) 3 ECTS
  • Internetworks (CCNA2) 3 ECTS
  • Virtual Local Area Networks (CCNA3) 3 ECTS
  • Wide Area Networks (CCNA4) 3 ECTS
  • IP Multimedia Systems 3 ECTS
  • Network Management in IP networks 4 ECTS

Information Security

  • PC Assembly and Management 3 ECTS
  • Introduction to Information Security 3 ECTS
  • IT Security 3 ECTS
  • Network Security 5 ECTS

Course Outline

Lessons in autumn 2012 will take place during three of the weekday evenings from 17.00 to 20.30. Most of the studies and assignments are carried out in a network laboratory environment using up-to-date equipment.

Tuition fee

The training is founded by the Ministry of Education, with students paying just a fee of EUR 250 per academic year and buying their own study material.
