Flash is required!
Fashion and Clothing is inspired by an interest in people, their dreams, hopes and needs. For a successful career in the industry, students must learn the fundamentals of body shapes, movements and plasticity.

A Bachelor of Fashion and Clothing

  • works in the clothing business in which trends are utilised to reach a target group at the right time
  • works in a global production chain in which production has been outsourced to take place around the world
  • can control the quality of clothes by making instructions for manufacture or measurement charts.

A key part of the training consists of collection and selection design, purchasing, clothing design, production and quality control, and prediction of future trends in a changing operating environment. A range of customer projects and work placement are important too.

Consisting of 240 ECTS credits, fashion and clothing students complete a Bachelor’s degree in four years. Teaching takes place in Lummetie 2b, 01300 Vantaa. In the course of their studies, students will improve their skills related to aesthetic perception and observation, their cooperative skills, finding information and applying it, taking responsibility and interacting with other people.

The student will also require creativity to solve problems in an aesthetically, ethically and financially appropriate way. A Bachelor of Fashion and Clothing will have a comprehensive view of the entire design, production, buying and marketing process in the fashion and clothing industry. He/she will be able to work as a pattern maker, pattern coordinator, collection design assistant, production secretary, purchaser, purchasing assistant, importer or representative.
