Electria is an applied electronics research and development unit in Helsinki Metropolia University of Applied Sciences.

Versatile Bachelor of Engineering and Bachelor of Laboratory Sciences training and practical development operations.
The Industrial Engineering unit trains Bachelors of Engineering and Bachelors of Laboratory Sciences and carries out research, development and innovation operations. Our training and R&D&I operations are focused on the different sectors of industrial engineering and after-sales.
Our unit offers a versatile range of degree programmes, guaranteeing extensive cooperation opportunities. Training and applied R&D&I operations are based on strong cooperation with businesses and workplaces.
Industrial Engineering features ten degree programmes that are based at three different campuses: one in Helsinki City Centre, one in the district of Käpylä in Helsinki, and one in Myyrmäki in Vantaa. In addition, our electronics research and development unit, Electria, is based at Technopolis, near Helsinki-Vantaa Airport. We have approximately 160 full-time staff and 2,800 students. There are two international degree programmes: Environmental Engineering and Electronics.
We consider our particular strength to be the fact that we combine training and R&D in each of our sectors. Projects are mainly carried out by our lecturers and students, which helps ensure that our expertise is up-to-date and is widely offered for the development of working life in the region. We also employ a truly multitechnical approach in our teaching and R&D&I operations. As an indication of this, we have successfully carried out several
extensive and demanding projects to date.
