The studies are suitable for, for example:

  • Learning about studying at a UAS
  • Helping you to find a field that interests you
  • For completing courses that can be credited to you if you apply for a degree programme later
  • Obtaining eligibility for the joint application (Open Studies study path)
  • Building up on your facts and skills needed in your job
  • Studying as a hobby

Learn about Metropolia's Open Studies course offering.

Note! Metropolia's degree students (youth or adult education or Master's degree students) cannot take part in Metropolia's Open Studies' integrated courses through Open Studies. However, they may enrol on such courses through Winha as for any other course. Nevertheless, all students must fulfil the prerequisites set for participation, and lecturers have the final decision as to which of Metropolia's degree students will be accepted on their courses. On the other hand, non-attending Metropolia degree students (youth or adult education or Master's degree students) may take part in Metropolia's Open UAS integrated courses through Open UAS, enrolling using the Open UAS online form. In such cases, a course fee will be charged as set for Open UAS studies. All Metropolia's degree students (youth or adult education or Master's degree students) may take part in a separately organised courses offered by Metropolia's Open UAS. Enrolment on a separately organised course always takes place through the online form, with a course fee set for Open UAS studies being charged. Other than degree students (such as those taking part in specialisation studies or apprenticeship-type training) always pay for any Open UAS courses and enrol on them using the Open UAS online form.

Metropolia degree students who took part in a separately organised course and who later wish to transfer their studies to their degree studies ISP (individual study plan) must request accreditation of such courses. Courses cannot be transferred in Winha from one role to another! (A separate role identifier will be created to degree students in Winha.)
