Metropolia library resources

The library offers up-to-date collections for your professional needs. We have books, databases, e-journals, articles, music publications, surveys and audio-visual materials which are not available freely on the Web. We have both printed and electronic resources.


In MetCat service you can find information on our printed and electronic materials. You can also access some electronic materials via MetCat.

You can also renew your loans, reserve books and check your contact information by logging in to MetCat with your Metropolia username and password.

Search for both electronic and printed Metropolia theses in MetCat. Theseus gives you online access to theses and publications from Finnish universities of applied sciences. Part of the printed thesis has been transferred to the Metropolia Archive. Inquiries about the theses in the archive can be made by e-mail: arkisto(at) or by phone: 040 334 5130.

Remote access

Login with your Metropolia id’s, and you can use our licensed e-materials anywhere - at home, at a café, on the train.


LibGuides is an online service that provides information on library services and electronic resources. .

We have two types of guides: General and Subject Guides.

  • From the General Guides you will find information on library services, such as e-books or e-resources in teaching.
  • From the Subject Guides you will find materials on your field of study, and tips for information seeking. Login to the databases with your Metropolia id’s, and you can use the e-materials anywhere.

Acquisition proposal

You can suggest new material for the library collections. This is done easily by sending us an email or by making a service request. You can also make your suggestion in person at the library.
