As globalization increases the work of national and international social services managers and developers has become more diverse and demanding. Our collaboration partners have become more heterogeneous and multinational than in previous decades. This increasingly poses a challenge to current welfare services management and the staff who work in international teams or multinational environments.
Management and internationally focused personnel working in the social, health, education and rehabilitation fields
After this course participants will be able to more confidently use English in professional and managerial interactions.
This course is targeted to those practitioners who need Social Services English at the management level in negotiations, presentations… This course includes administrative/legal terms and procedures used in the field of Social Services in Finland
31.10. : meet, set out objectives, get familiar with employee concerns about using English, some exercises and getting to know one another and then exercises to practice during interactions at work. Theme: Basic professional discussions and networking in English
7.11.: practice with professional communications and challenges they discovered, then light exercises with presentations and negotiations. Finally exercises to practice refining these basics at work and maybe incorporating things that they have asked specifically for
21.11.: practice with presentations and negotiations. This is final session so we have will review and get some resources for professional language and presentation etiquette in English. Participants will get a certificate on their attendance and participation and the number of hours of the training.

The course is an educational service without value added tax according to Finnish Value Added Tax Act (AVL 39-40 §). If Finnish Value Added Tax Act or its interpretation alters during the course, the tax will be added to the course fee.

Cancellation is free if done at least fourteen days before the course or module is to begin. Cancellation has to be made in writing (email or letter) to the practical arrangements’ coordinator. If cancellation arrives later, the course fee will be charged in full. The participant can be traded.
