Metropolia University of Applied Sciences is the first in Finland to
offer a Live Performance Technology degree programme, training mainly
stage engineers and stage managers. This is a field for which no higher
education has been available until now, but as the field is becoming
more and more technical, the need for such training is obvious.
The training will begin in autumn 2008 as Metropolia's Performing
Arts continuing education in a separate line of study. This training will complement the Lighting and Sound Design training provided by the Theatre Academy of Finland.
