European Commission granted Metropolia the ECTS Label last December. Metropolia received the ECTS Diploma at the Finnish International Educators' Days in Tampere on May 13, 2014. The awards were presented by Samu Seitsalo, the Director General of the Centre for International Mobility CIMO. Päivi Hellén, the Erasmus Coordinator of Metropolia, received the ECTS Label Diploma and a glass sculpture symbolising the label on behalf of Metropolia's staff and students.
In addition to Metropolia, the label was awarded to three other Finnish higher education institutions: Arcada - Nylands svenska yrkeshögskola, the University of Oulu and Vaasa University of Applied Sciences.
The ECTS Label is a quality label which certifies that the institution's international activities, curricula and Study Guides are consistent with the quality requirements of the ECTS system
