Metropolia received more than 34,000 Applications in the second Joint Application

The second joint application period of Finnish Universities and Universities of Applied Sciences for spring 2020 ended on Wednesday 1st April. Metropolia’s educational offering included almost 70 Finnish-language full-time or part-time Degree Programs leading to a Bachelor's Degree or a Master's Degree. More than 34,000 applications were submitted to Metropolia. Thank you to everyone who applied to Metropolia!

The number of applicants, especially for Master's Degrees, increased significantly from last year.

From the Bachelor's Degree Programs, Emergency Medical Care became the most popular this spring, with almost 23 applicants per one starting place. Degree Programs in Physiotherapy as well as Film and Television were also very popular. In the case of Master's Degrees, most applications were submitted to the Master's Degree in Health Promotion.

The spring’s Joint Application will continue with entrance exams. Metropolia's Bachelor's Degree Programs (excluding all Bachelor Programs in the field of Culture as well as the part-time Bachelor Degree Programs in Information and Communication Technology and Industrial Management) use the UAS Entrance Examination, which is a joint digital selection test for Universities of Applied Sciences.

The UAS Entrance Examination will be held from 1 to 5 June 2020 and the applicant will take part in one of the examination days. Universities of Applied Sciences strive to organize the entrance exams as planned. The development of the coronavirus situation and government instructions are followed nationally, contingency plans are made and information is updated as necessary.

The results of all selections will be published in the service no later than July 8, 2020. Those accepted as students in the 2nd spring joint application must accept the study place by 15 July 2020 at 3 p.m.

Any changes to the schedules will be updated on our website. Find out more about Joint Application schedules on Metropolia's Joint Application pages.
