Career Monitoring for Alumni Who Graduated in 2020 Begins in October

The nationwide Career Monitoring Survey is open from 8 October to 9 November 2025. The 2025 survey invites all alumni across Finland who completed a bachelor’s or master’s degree (AMK or YAMK) in 2020. Answering the survey takes about 10–15 minutes, and a personal response link will be delivered via email and text message. The responses to the career follow-up survey are anonymous and will be treated confidentially.

The Career Monitoring Survey explores how graduates perceive the value of their degree in the labour market and how satisfied they are with their studies after entering their professional careers. This annual survey offers Metropolia alumni an opportunity to share their experiences regarding employment, career paths, and the skills needed in the workplace. The responses also benefit prospective applicants and current students considering their study choices and future careers. In addition, the results are used to further develop Metropolia’s teaching.

In the survey, you can share your views on topics such as:

  • How well have your studies met the needs of working life?
  • What are your future plans regarding possible further studies?
  • Does the competence gained from your AMK studies carry over into working life?

Career Monitoring Survey Helps Develop UAS Studies

The results of the Career Monitoring Survey are used by the Ministry of Education and Culture to evaluate the performance of universities of applied sciences (UAS). A high response rate is especially important because the results have a significant impact on UAS funding. This is why every response is particularly valuable to Metropolia. All responses will be treated confidentially.

You can explore the results of previous Career Monitoring Surveys, as well as study experiences and career paths of graduates from different higher education institutions, on the toissa.fi website and the Vipunen.fi education statistics service. The Career Monitoring Survey provides up-to-date insights into graduates’ employment, career paths, and the general skills needed across different sectors in the labour market. This information is crucial for both developing education and for student guidance. The UAS Career Monitoring Survey is conducted at the same time as the corresponding survey for universities.

Did You Graduate from Metropolia in 2020?

If you completed your degree at Metropolia in 2020, you will receive a personal invitation to participate in the survey by both text message and email, using the contact details stored in Metropolia’s alumni register. The survey will be sent to all graduates who completed a bachelor’s (AMK) or master’s (YAMK) degree in 2020.

The survey is carried out in all universities of applied sciences across Finland in cooperation with CSC – IT Center for Science Ltd. The national UAS Career Monitoring Survey is coordinated by the Finnish National Agency for Education (EDUFI) and the Ministry of Education and Culture.
