The last graduates of Finnish post-secondary higher vocational qualifications have graduated between 1997 and 2001. The scope of the Finnish post-secondary higher vocational qualification (i.e. opisto-/ ammatillisen korkea-asteen tutkinto in Finnish) refers to general upper secondary school based degrees, including an internship period. The scope of the primary school-based degrees must be larger.
***) The studies used as a basis for student selection must be mainly in the language of instruction of the degree programme in question. In the case of degree programs in Finnish, the fact that the applicant's mother tongue is Finnish is also sufficient to demonstrate sufficient language skills. The degree programme may also use other ways in which the applicant can demonstrate that he or she has sufficient language skills (e.g. a separate language test or an interview organized by the degree).
