The course is directed to physiotherapists and neurologists.

The Objectives of the Course

To increase the knowledge and understanding about cervical dystonia. To learn about assessment, analysis and physiotherapy treatment. 

Content

Lectures about cervical dystonia, the character, the consequences, the assessment, analysis, physiotherapy treatment and something about other treatments. The theoretical lectures are going to be mixed with practical parts including videocases and group discussions.

The course is taught in English.

For physiotherapists: February 11th through 12th, 2020

For neurologists: February 11th, 2020

Course Fee

Two day course for physiotherapists: 320 € + VAT 24 %.

One day course for neurologists: 160 € + VAT 24 %.

We will confirm realisation of the course 1 month before due date.

Cancellation Terms

We require a written cancellation notification four weeks before the scheduled start of the course. We charge full price for cancellations that are made later than four weeks before the start. In case a participant is unable to attend the course, another participant can take their place.       

If the course, an individual day of the course, or a part of the course has to be cancelled on Metropolia's side, the participant is offered the opportunity to attend a similar implementation at another time, or Metropolia will refund the fees related to the aforementioned course/day of the course/part of the course. Metropolia is not liable for other fees that may fall upon the participant in case of cancellation.

Trainer

Johanna Blom is a leg physiotherapist and a Bachelor in Medical Science (2007). She is employed at the Neurological department at the University hospital in Malmö and has worked with dystonia patients for the last 11 years in cooperation with a specialist doctor taking care of patients with spasticity or dystonia. Johanna has taught plenty of lectures about cervical dystonia in Sweden and she has also held workshops in Nordic conferences as well as in Slovakia and Poland. In February 2018, she published a book Muskler i obalans. Cervikal dystoni och spasticitet in Swedish for physiotherapists about spasticity and cervical dystonia.
