The Finnish higher education attracts the global education consultants

The education consultants around the world showed great interest in Finnish higher education at the Uniagents European Education Summit, held on 30.10.-1.11.2018 in Helsinki, Finland. Metropolia UAS co-hosted the summit in cooperation with Edunation, Haaga-Helia University of Applied Sciences, and Arcada University of Applied Sciences

The event brought together high schools, higher education institutions and agents from around the world to network and discuss the current trends in student mobility. Around 200 participants from over 40 different countries were present.

The three days included a welcome reception by the Deputy Mayor of Helsinki, a full day of B2B meetings at Arcada premises and an evening reception at Haaga-Helia. The last day was organized at Metropolia with the participants from the higher education institutions. Metropolia’s President, CEO Riitta Konkola welcomed the participants by giving a short presentation of Metropolia, its four campuses and innovation hubs

“We at Metropolia believe in changing the world through meaningful encounters where we learn something new. Our four modern campuses create an open and attractive learning environment and network, which boost the area and its people to develop and succeed. Our aim is to develop into a higher education institution that will have a strong impact on regional and social wellbeing and growth on a wide spectrum”, said Riitta Konkola in her welcome speech.

Peter Vesterbacka reminded in his speech how education belongs to all and highlighted the safety and functionality of the Finnish society.

Metropolia’s large education offering interested the participants. They commented positively about the  various possibilities for collaboration regarding e.g. summer schools, semesters with tuition fees and made-to-order degree programmes.

“We were delighted to co-host this event. This was a great opportunity for us to promote Finland and its top-notch higher education”, comments Katri Luukka, Director of Metropolia's Continuing Education and Enterprise Services.
