Theoretical knowledge and expert lectures offered during the studies support the development of one’s professional practice. The curriculum reflects changes in professional field by anchoring topics in students’ workplaces and the research-oriented development work they require.

Master’s Thesis Based on a Workplace Development Project

In the Master’s degree programme at a University of Applied Sciences, the thesis is typically based on a concrete development project within the student’s workplace. The project and its outcomes are approached through a research-oriented lens. When selecting the thesis topic, personal interest and the need for development—either individual or organizational—are key considerations. The thesis provides an opportunity to explore a development or research problem in depth.

The thesis strengthens the student’s ability to carry out demanding expert work independently. Master’s theses also play a central role in the research and development of the entire theatre and event industry.

Blended Studies Alongside Work

The studies are designed to be completed alongside full-time employment.

The programme is delivered as flexible blended studies, taking into account students’ prior knowledge and experience. Blended studies consists of in-person and online tuition, as well as development assignments carried out in the workplace. In-person or online teaching days are scheduled approximately 2–4 times per month.

The education is provided at Metropolia’s Arabia Campus in Helsinki.

Who Is This Programme For?
