Metropolia at Design Fair SaloneSatellite in Milan on 9–14 April 2013

Come and explore new and fresh design at our stand.

The prototypes reflect respect for Finnish design traditions seasoned by humour and joy. The models on display include furniture, storage solutions and lamps. Colour is brought to the stand by knitted blankets - convenient to use also as neck support cushions.

The works have been selected by a jury in the Degree Programme in Design at Helsinki Metropolia University of Applied Sciences. The designers study interior architecture, industrial design or textile design at Metropolia and also a few recent alumni are present.

Some of the students have already received awards and have shown their works at the Habitare,
Protoshop, design fair in Helsinki. The designers present in Milan are Reetta Ahola, Taru Arkko, Reeta Cagnani, Lauri Hiilinen, Tanja Kallio, Pasi Kärkkäinen, Kristos Mavrostomos, Juhana Myllykoski, Hanne Palomäki, Juulia Paloranta, Leena Raudaskoski, Mikko Siponen and Thomas Tallqvist.

SaloneSatellite has been the springboard to success for many famous designers of today. Now it is our turn to show our talent!

Un gruppo di studenti alla Fiera Internazionale di Design al SaloneSatellite dal 9. – 14.4.2013

Presentiamo nel nostro stand dei nuovi concetti di design.

Nella progettazione dei vari prodotti abbiamo rispettato le origini del design Finlandese, abbinandole alla gioia e al buon umore. Nel nostro stand sono presenti mobili, contenitori e lampade. Le coperte trasformandosi in un comodo cuscino da viaggio portano colori allo stand. I prodotti qui presentati sono stati scelti dalla giuria del’ Universita’ di scienze applicate Metropolia. I futuri designers studiano in Metropolia architettura per interni, design tessile o design industriale.

Alcuni degli studenti sono stati già vincitori di premi in Finlandia ed hanno partecipato alla Fiera del mobile Abitare, Protoshop.
