Business Finland-funded Tactical Eye Collaborative Project

The objective of the Business Finland-funded Tactical Eye collaborative project is to create a networked system composed of multiple types of sensors (multi-sensory) for managing a variety of remotely operated, automated, and autonomous systems (multi-agent). The system will be used to support the automated generation of situational awareness, and these two themes together form the core of the research.

Situational awareness will be generated for exceptional circumstances where normal observation and situational awareness infrastructure is unavailable or degraded. The system will also be applicable under normal operating conditions, for example in area surveillance and monitoring.

Based on the data produced by the system, situational awareness information will be generated at the level required by human users while also automatically enhancing the capabilities of operational systems. Common interfaces and architectures will enable the integration of a wide range of systems with a low entry threshold.

The project combines the expertise of several Finnish SMEs, extending beyond the individual competencies of each company as part of research conducted by research institutions. The project has significant export potential. Finland is internationally recognized for its preparedness and emergency management capabilities, and the topics addressed by the project are highly relevant on a global scale. The project's objectives, activities, and results will provide an excellent foundation for the participating companies' future development initiatives.
