Sistemas Energéticos Globales: Explorando la Transición en México y Finlandia online course consists of six sections, where you will get acquainted with what the energy sector looks like now and in the future, and why Finnish expertise can be important globally.
Please note that the online course is in Spanish, and the course assignments can be completed in Spanish. However, the administrative language of the online course is English.
The course is completed independently, in your own pace, as online studies.
Please note that the course is not intended for degree students.

The course will cover:
- Overview of current and future energy technologies
- Different energy production systems
- Energy consumption, storage, and demand flexibility
- You will get familiar with the electricity and heat markets in Finland.
- The course will cover how the energy system is transforming in the coming years due to the energy revolution and the green transition.

El curso está estructurado en seis secciones, que abarcan:
- Una visión de las tecnologías energéticas actuales y futuras en Finlandia y México.
- Diversos sistemas de producción de energía en Norte de Europa y Latinoamérica.
- Consumo de energía, soluciones de almacenamiento y gestión inteligente de la demanda.

Learning objectives
The student will recognize different energy production methods and their role in the energy system now and in the future.
El estudiante identifica diferentes formas de producción de energía y su papel en el sistema energético en la actualidad y en el futuro.
Evaluation criteria
All written assignments must be submitted, participation in group discussions is required, and you must achieve 80% of the points from the exams to pass the course. You can track your progress through the progress tracker bar. Once all tasks visible in the progress tracker have been completed successfully, the course is considered completed, and you can receive a certificate for the course

The course is offered as part of the project Vihreän teknologian vientiosaamista digitaalisesti (ViViD). The ViViD project's goal is to promote technical and economic expertise related to the green transition in Finland's export sectors. The aim is to enhance commercial and technical export business skills in the energy sector by offering short, work-life-oriented online courses.
Vihreän teknologian vientiosaamista digitaalisesti project has been funded by the European Union's Recovery and Resilience Facility (RRF), which is the key instrument of the EU's Recovery Facility (NextGenerationEU). The financing has been granted by the Service Centre for Continuous Learning and Employment (SECLE). The Service Centre promotes the competence development of working-age people and the availability of skilled labour. The operations of the Service Centre are overseen by the Ministry of Education and Culture and the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment.
