Orientation and Academic Calendar
The academic year is divided into two semesters: autumn semester and spring semester. Both semesters have two periods: 1 and 2 in the autumn, 3 and 4 in the spring.
Your exchange period starts with an orientation where you will get all the information regarding your studies, practical issues as well as daily life in Finland. Most of all, you will get to meet other exchange students! Attending the orientation is compulsory, so make sure to plan your arrival accordingly. A more detailed orientation program will be sent to you later.

Most degree programmes in the field of Culture and Creative industries are taught on Arabia campus. Only some classes in Music are organized in a different district of Helsinki. The Arabia campus is divided into 3 different locations in the district of Arabia, all within 800 metres from each other. The study units for exchange students during Autumn semester 2018 are:
- Arabia135 (address: Hämeentie 135): Design (Textile design, Industrial design, Interior architecture), Fashion and Clothing, Conservation
- Arabia161 (address: Hämeentie 161): 3D Animation and Visualisation
- Arabiankatu 2: Music (pop & jazz)
- Ruoholahdentori 6 (district of Ruoholahti): Music (classical music)
The Learning Agreement you submitted with your exchange application is now being reviewed. The signed Learning Agreement will be uploaded to Mobility-Online when ready. In case there have been changes to your original proposal of the Learning Agreement, we will send you further details about it via e-mail. The final changes will be made upon arrival. Course enrolments will be done during the orientation days.
