The Preparing Organisations for Supply Chain Disruptions -online course covers the key concepts of supply chain disruptions and related risks in the global business environment. In addition, the concepts of foresight and risk management are briefly introduced in the context of organisations’ preparedness for supply chain disruptions. The course is conducted in English; hence adequate English proficiency is needed.

Please note, that full-time students will not be accepted to the course.

After completing this course, the students will: 

understand the basics of supply chain disruptions 

understand the potential impacts of the current multi-crisis business environment 

understand the importance of risk management and foresight in preparing organisations for supply chain disruptions and organisations ‘preparedness for supply chain disruptions 


Evaluation criteria

The course includes independent assignments to be completed in Moodle learning environment. Once all tasks have been completed successfully, the course is considered completed, and you can receive a certificate for the course.

The course is offered as part of the project Vihreän teknologian vientiosaamista digitaalisesti (ViViD). The ViViD project's goal is to promote technical and economic expertise related to the green transition in Finland's export sectors. The aim is to enhance commercial and technical export business skills in the energy sector by offering short, work-life-oriented online courses.


Vihreän teknologian vientiosaamista digitaalisesti project has been funded by the European Union's Recovery and Resilience Facility (RRF), which is the key instrument of the EU's Recovery Facility (NextGenerationEU). The financing has been granted by the Service Centre for Continuous Learning and Employment (SECLE). The Service Centre promotes the competence development of working-age people and the availability of skilled labour. The operations of the Service Centre are overseen by the Ministry of Education and Culture and the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment.
