Welcome to International Project Week in Helsinki in May 2026!

For visiting lecturers

The 22nd International Project Week will take place 4th-8th May at the Metropolia’s Myyrmäki campus in Vantaa

The theme of the week is Sustainability and Corporate Social Responsibility.

During the week you will deliver a 90-minute lecture on a sustainability-related theme of your choosing. Additionally you will be coaching a group of around 10-15 Bachelor's-level students as they crack the sustainability-related company case.

We are also organizing a versatile social program for the visiting professors in the evenings on Monday-Thursday. For example, you will get a chance to learn more about Helsinki, its architectural and design gems, and how Helsinki is becoming more sustainable on a walking tour around the city. During the week you also will experience the sustainability actions in Finnish companies and enjoy some cultural activities together with other visiting lecturers!

You can also bring along a group of 5-10 students from your home institution to join the week’s activities. Our student assistants will organize an exciting social program for the visiting students.

For students

This course is part of mandatory modules for bachelor's programmes in business for Metropolia students. For many students the week has been one of the highlights in their studies. This is a great opportunity to prep your English, meet international students and grow your networks.

For visiting exchange students this is a great opportunity to get to know Finnish student life and enjoy the spring of Helsinki.

You have also a great chance to utilize the expertise of visiting lecturers to build on previous learning to solve an ethical and corporate social responsibility case. The following learning opportunities will be organised:

  • Discussions of current ethical and corporate social responsibility dilemmas and find solutions to them.
  • Collaboration in multicultural teams to produce a unified approach to corporate social responsibility cases.
  • Produce a team poster reflecting key insights gained during the week and potential solutions to the case(s)
  • Coaching opportunities by the international lecturers
