A highly requested work life event organized by Social and Healthcare Fields and Early Childhood Education for both Bachelor and Master's Degree students.

Career Day 26.11.2025 10 am - 2 pm

The event consists of three parts. Participants will attend the event according to their own schedules. You are welcome to move around and explore the different areas freely on a non-stop basis. Some workshops require pre-registration – see the details below.

  1. Recruitment Event. At the Recruitment Event you have the opportunity to get to know multiple employers at their stands. You may enter and leave the recruitment event when it suits your schedule.
  2. Career Stories -Alumni Event. At Career Stories -Alumni Event you get to hear about the Alumni's experiences of work life.
  3. Various workshops (some non-stop and for others you need to enroll in advance).

Career Stories – Alumni Event in the Mirror Hall

At the Alumni Event, you’ll hear alumni share their experiences in the workforce and discuss current trends in the working world. The alumni are healthcare professionals who have graduated from Metropolia. You’ll also learn about experiences in becoming an entrepreneur, interning and working abroad, as well as further study opportunities after graduation.

The event includes presentations in both Finnish and English. The language of each presentation is indicated below next to the speaker’s name. Minna Kaihovirta is hosting.

Workshops

Some of the workshops require you to enroll in advance and some don’t. The programme will be updated and changes may occur.

Fixed workshops in classrooms (registration required)

1. Metropolia Career Coaches: Employment in the Finnish Health Care Sector
This workshop is for students in Health Care. Come and explore practical ways to enhance your employability in Finland. The workshop is held in English, with materials available also in Finnish. Max 40 participants.

2. Metropolia Career Coaches: Employment in the Finnish Social Services Sector
This workshop is for students in Social Services. Come and explore practical ways to advance your employment opportunities in Finland. The workshop is held in English, with materials available also in Finnish. Max 40 participants.

3. Metropolia Study Coach: Making Your Skills Visible in Your LinkedIn Profile 1
This workshop helps you articulate your skills and professional expertise through guided exercises. We will also review the basic functions of LinkedIn and how to showcase your expertise in your profile. You can use the exercises to develop your own profile. Held in Finnish. Max 15 participants.

4. Metropolia Study Coach: Making Your Skills Visible in Your LinkedIn Profile 2
This workshop includes the same content as session 1: articulating your skills and professional expertise through exercises, and reviewing LinkedIn basics and profile development. Held in Finnish. Max 15 participants.

5. Identifying Your Skills
Join a workshop led by an Occupational Therapy student and learn to recognize your own strengths. Held in English. Max 6 participants.

6. Creative Futures Workshop
Develop your competence in using creative methods within social and health care work. The workshop explores how cultural and creative approaches can support the active participation of mental health recovery clients. Max 20 participants.

Trade Union Tehy ry:
Get tips for creating a strong CV and have a high-quality CV photo taken. Avoid queues by booking a time slot at the photo station in advance.

Trade Union JHL:
Do you know the basics of working life in Finland? Test your knowledge on employment conditions, salary, and working hours – and get answers to your questions. An expert on immigrant services is also available.

All students from Myllypuro Campus's Social and Healthcare fields' Bachelor and Master's degrees, Early Childhood Education and also employers connected to these fields.

NOTE! Students don't need to enroll for anything other than for some of the workshop. The Career Day has been scheduled into your timetables.
