Business Informatics studies gave better skills to lead technology-powered transformations
Diego Barros completed his Master of Business Administration degree in Business Informatics in 2025.
Diego tells about his background and studies:
"I still remember how I felt after attending the first class of the programme: finding an oasis after a long walk in the desert! After the challenging pandemic years, when I was intuitively leading my workplace's operational transformations towards a now mandatory high-end digital presence, the Master's Degree in Business Informatics provided me with an opportunity to identify what I could refine and gain the skills to better lead other technology-powered transformations in the future.
Choosing the BI programme was an easy decision: it is well suited for those who work and study simultaneously. It covers topics such as applied strategic management, applied business analytics, leadership, circular economy, project management, marketing automation, innovation management, to name a few. It is clear that the professors and programme management care deeply about everyone's success: they have experience, expertise, patience, and empathy, all of which made me feel empowered and willing to be bold during my courses and research.
In terms of outcomes, the most valuable, incomparable, and unvaluable outcome I gained from this program was the power of human relationships and attributes in the context of technological transformation. It is true that I feel more equipped to thrive in this context due to the concrete tools I have acquired; however, the experience of connecting with great people like the instructors and my classmates, learning from them, and experiencing campus (and its surroundings!) together was priceless. My experiences during the courses and while conducting my thesis convinced me that the human, creative-powered management is indispensable in today's AI-powered transformation scenario.
I am writing this testimonial two weeks after graduating, and I am actually realizing that I made it! I'm writing this from the great library on our campus, where I wrote most of my thesis. My sincere hope is that the exemplary structure provided by this programme will assist more people to creatively succeed in their exciting professional and personal pursuits as it did for me!"
