International education programme launches in Vietnam
FPT University and Metropolia University of Applied Sciences are launching a joint education programme in Vietnam. The “Finland Metropolia Vietnam” programme will begin in autumn 2025, offering 100 student places in the field of information and communication technology in its first year.
“This new collaboration is truly exciting. We can be proud that Finland’s education system is internationally recognised for its innovation, holistic approach and practical orientation,” says Simo Mustila, Deputy CEO of Metropolia.
Teaching will take place in English at FPT University’s facilities in Vietnam. Students will complete a Finnish degree following Metropolia University of Applied Sciences’ curriculum. The teaching will be delivered by FPT University lecturers who meet international qualification standards.
The programme promotes sustainable development and global competence
Education is one of the cornerstones of sustainable development. The “Finland Metropolia Vietnam” programme supports the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals by providing high-quality education with improved accessibility through scholarships. Scholarships are awarded based on academic performance, social engagement and individual development potential – supporting equality and social mobility.
The programme aims to train a new generation of professionals to meet the demands of rapidly evolving fields such as software engineering and the Internet of Things. FPT University’s technology ecosystem and Metropolia’s applied education model offer students the opportunity to learn both in theory and in practice – locally and internationally.
The programme is based on the Finnish model of university of applied sciences education, which combines academic content with strong links to working life. Students will have the opportunity to participate in projects within the FPT Group’s technology ecosystem and apply for student exchange or internships in Europe.
