Metropolia’s Sustainability Report 2024 published – concrete actions for a sustainable future

Sustainable development is a cross-cutting theme in Metropolia's strategy. At Metropolia, we are building a sustainable future by promoting the sustainability of our own operations and education and by developing sustainable development and growth solutions together with our partners. The newly published sustainability report highlights how the Metropolia community has advanced this work in 2024.

The Sustainability Report 2024 focuses on key themes such as climate responsibility, promoting well-being and diversity as well as the integration of sustainable development into education, research and innovation.

“In addition to standardised reporting topics, we wanted to highlight concrete case examples of Metropolia’s sustainability work from the past year. The report includes stories about the use of artificial intelligence in sustainability education, the development of a waste sorting system and improvements in accessibility in both physical spaces and digital services,“ says Anssi Almgren, Sustainability Manager at Metropolia.

Metropolia continues its sustainability efforts in collaboration with students, staff and an extensive partner network. In 2025, Metropolia will update its sustainability roadmap and co-create pedagogical materials for a sustainable future together with teachers. Furthermore, sustainability reporting will increasingly align with the CSRD directive.
