Metropolia’s Autumn 2025 Joint Application: Social and Health Care Remains Highly Attractive
The joint application period for autumn 2025 ended on 11 September at 3 pm. The number of applicants for Metropolia University of Applied Sciences degree programs remains high. Degree programs starting in autumn 2025 were offered in all four fields: social and health care, technology, business, and culture, with social and health care being the most strongly represented in this application round.
We received a total of 13 996 applications, with 4 401 primary applicants. There are 1044 study places available for degree programs starting in spring 2026 – an increase of 13.48% compared to last autumn’s joint application.
The widest selection of options in Social and Health Care
Social and health care programs were clearly the most popular; the field attracted a total of 6289 applications. The online Nursing degree program alone received 581 applications for 90 available places, reflecting the strong appeal of the field.
Degree options in social services (including online studies and early childhood education) received 1715 applications, and the complementary health care studies recorded 106 applications for 28 places. The 34 places available in physiotherapy attracted 702 applications.
Smart Industry as the only technology study option
A total of 99 applications was received for the technology field. In this application round, the only available technology program was Smart Industry, with 30 study places on offer.
Change Leadership the focus in Business
In Business studies, only the degree in Change Leadership was available in this round, attracting 130 applications for 25 study places.
Culture offered Performing and Theatre Technology
In Culture, the sole option was Performing and Theatre Technology, which received fewer applications than available places: 14 applications for 18 places.
