Downloading, installing and working on Electronic design software
Diode applications: Rectifier circuits, clippers, clampers and voltage regulators
Bipolar junction transistor (BJT) applications: Design procedure and simulation of Small signal amplifier, power amplifiers, Oscillator and Relay driver
Operational Amplifier (Op-Amp): Design procedure and simulation of Inverting amplifier, non-inverting amplifier, summer, subtractor and Op-Amp Oscillators
Combinational logic circuits: Simulation of logic gates, design and simulation of 8-bit adder/ subtractor and BCD to seven-segment decoder
Sequential logic circuits: Simulation of Flip flops, design and Simulation of shift registers, Synchronous and asynchronous counters
Mixed signal circuits: Design and simulation of Flash analog to digital converter (ADC) and digital to analog converters
Application Projects:
- Design and simulation of hall entrance/ exit counter with 7-segment display for a hall with 1000 persons capacity
- Temperature display and heater control system
Note: Both the application projects will be without a microcontroller

Learning objectives

To familiarize the students with Electronics Design Software, i.e. Proteus Design Suite and National Instruments Multisim
To design and Simulate basic to advanced Analog Circuits
To design and Simulate basic to advanced Digital Circuits
To simulate Mixed Signal Circuits
To simulate Microcontroller Based Systems (Optional, if we have extra time than the above objectives)

Prerequisites

The participants should be familiar with the basic electrical systems, basic electronics and basic digital logic design
