Narrative in Games covers creation of stories for games. Stories can be an essential part of a game creating immersion and keeping the player in the game. Telling a story in a game is very different to other medias due to lack of space and player choice. This course will cover how to create a story for a game and how it should be presented in a game.


Learning objectives

After the course student will know how to write stories for games and can also gain tips in improving their storywriting. As course target, student will create their own story for a game.

None.


Teaching methods

100% Online (Self-Study) course. The course includes theory and exercise parts, in addition to lectures in video formats with text documentation to support these.

Evaluation criteria

Evaluation criteria is embedded on the exercises and Final Project assignment that is a criteria of completing the course and receiving an evaluation. The student is expected to be able to follow the given task boundary conditions, and demonstrate an understanding of the elements and tools available while solving possible design problems creatively with the aid of testing
