Academic Calendar for exchange students

Teaching takes place in the framework of the official dates. Divisions and degree programmes set the actual semester dates for courses within this framework see Semester Dates by the Field of Study in 2026-2027.

When planning your arrival to Finland, please follow the instructions given in your acceptance material, as they are specified to your degree programme.

Periods

In some study fields semesters are divided into periods.

Autumn semester 2026: 1.8.-31.12.2026

• 1. period: 1.8. – 18.10.2026
• 2. period: 19.10. – 31.12.2026

Spring semester 2027: 1.1.-31.7.2027

• 3. period: 1.1. - 21.3.2027
• 4. period: 22.3. - 23.5.2027
• Summer period 24.5.2027 - 31.7.2027
