EBreastII - Interprofessional co-operation in breast cancer therapeutic phase

The project is targeted especially to bachelor level educated health care staff. It is continuum to project Ebreast(I), where open access e-learning about breast cancer diagnostic stage was developed. Purpose is to develop open access elearning about interprofessional breast cancer care based on best available evidence about the topic.

Interprofessional way of working results better breast cancer treatment, improves the information change, continuity of care, patient satisfaction and saves time, money as well as human suffering.

Project objectives

All professionals involved in breast cancer patient treatment and care need to be aware of each others’ role to guarantee patient’s optimal care. Specialised education about the interprofessional aspects of breast cancer care is needed. Hence, the project has two main objectives:

  1. to review and create evidence based knowledge about interprofessional breast cancer care and treatments
  2. to create three interactive elearning modules comprising of 13 ECTS credits as follows:
    • Module 1 focuses on interprofessional aspects of cancer care and treatment (3 ects).
    • Module 2 focuses on breast cancer treatments and therapies (5 ects)
    • Module 3 focuses on ensuring patient safety in breast cancer care and therapies (5 ects).
