TraumaSkills – Trauma-informed operating model for child welfare aftercare – is a project that develops a trauma-informed operating model for child welfare aftercare in the welfare sector. The model is built through co-development, client participation, and expertise based on experience. The model is based on work coaching, which supports the establishment of permanent trauma-informed practices and operating methods.
Supports the independence of aftercare clients and helps prevent intergenerational disadvantage.
Strengthen the importance of aftercare and improve the effectiveness of foster care.
It also promotes employee well-being, as child welfare work is one of the most emotionally demanding roles in the social services sector, where staff resilience and retention are constant challenges.
The TraumaSkills project is planning how to expand the operating model to key ecosystems of support for adulthood. The aim is to coordinate services and support so that they form a safe and confidential whole to support young people's transition to adulthood.
