Automotive and mechanical engineering project development services – Smart Mobility Garage

Smart Mobility Garage is a unique and flexible project workshop for automotive and mechanical engineering research, development and innovation (RDI) projects. In Smart Mobility Garage, our expert staff, together with students, can flexibly implement various projects from small-scale testing to larger projects.

Smart Mobility Garage is part of Metropolia University of Applied Sciences' research, development and innovation unit.

Harveri is a multipurpose electric machine built from recycled parts. It works like a transport robot and can be used as a work machine.
The Angelica electric car was developed in 2017 in collaboration with the Chinese vehicle manufacturer AET Corporation.
The electric bus designed and manufactured in cooperation with VTT in 2015 was the first electric bus made entirely of aluminum. Lighter than other buses, it is very energy efficient.
Biofore Concept Car was manufactured in 2014 in collaboration with UPM. Most of the car's plastic parts have been replaced with UPM's high-quality, safe and durable biomaterials, which can significantly improve the environmental performance of car manufacturing.
Inductive charging testing for the Fiat Doblo electric car was designed and developed in 2014.
The Electric RaceAbout (ERA) electric car came second in the Progressive Automotive X PRIZE vehicle development competition in the United States 2010. It has broken records at the Nürburgring and won awards in several other international races.
The starting points for the design of the CityCab taxi were environmental-friendliness, safety and usability in city conditions. CityCab was implemented in 2006.
The Nuuskija air quality measuring van measures the importance of the number concentration and size distribution of the smallest particles of traffic emissions in the immediate vicinity of traffic. The Nuuskija was manufactured in 2003.
