Content
Students learn to utilise design research methods in identifying behavioural patterns, motivational factors, and obstacles that affect user experience and decision-making. Students learn to examine how understanding behaviour can be utilised in the design process and to evaluate the effectiveness and functionality of solutions. During the course, students learn to apply behavioural design in practical situations and utilise theoretical knowledge in the development of evidence-based solutions.
Learning objectives
The student understands and applies behavioural design methods and tools in different stages of the design process. They are familiar with research and testing methods that can be used to support and validate design decisions. The student understands the frameworks and methods that structure behavioural design practices and recognises the key roles in multidisciplinary design teams. The student learns to effectively integrate these methods and tools into real-life design scenarios.
Teaching methods
The study unit consists of short lecture segments, guided exercises, workshop work, and independent and group work.
On the course, students apply behavioural design methods in practice through step-by-step exercises in which behaviour is analysed, hypotheses are formulated, and solutions are developed and tested.
Learning material and recommended literature
The study unit makes use of the materials provided by the teacher (articles, presentations, tool templates) as well as up-to-date online resources.
