Solutions to challenges of competence and employment
From AMKoodari to AMKosaaja
AMKoodari offers free programming training financed by of the Ministry of Education and Culture. Metropolia, Haaga-Helia, HAMK, Laurea and Xamk are involved in the project. The training will expand and continue as AMKosaaja in 2022.
Bilingual Degree Programme in Nursing
The project responds to the shortage of registered nurses with a Nursing degree programme in which Finnish language teaching is integrated into substance studies. The studies aim to provide the student the language skills required of a nurse working in Finland. The project is implemented by Metropolia University of Applied Sciences and Tampere University of Applied Sciences.
SIMHE
Metropolia provides SIMHE-services (Supporting Immigrants in Higher Education in Finland) for highly educated immigrants to recognise their competences and to guide them to suitable study and career paths.
SOTKA - satellite education
The project coordinated by Metropolia responds to regional labour and educational needs. The project produced an education concept where online studies can be applied regionally to university degrees in the health sector.
Digital solutions
Digital entrance examination
Metropolia coordinated the development project for student selection in the Finnish Universities of Applied Sciences funded by the Ministry of Education and Culture in 2017-2020. A joint digital entrance examination for Universities of Applied Sciences was developed as part of the project.
Peppi
Peppi is a comprehensive service-oriented system for planning and related e-services for Higher Education Institution management. Peppi-ecosystem is owned by Metropolia and Tampere University of Applied Sciences.
University cooperation
3AMK
3AMK is a strategic alliance of Metropolia, Haaga-Helia and Laurea. The strategic objective of the alliance for the 2025-2028 contract period is to support the integration and employment of international students in the metropolitan area.
Digivisio 2030
Digivisio 2030 is a joint project of Finnish higher education institutions aiming to create a future for learning that benefits higher education institutions, learners and the society as a whole. The goal is a new era of learning where everyone can learn more easily and flexibly. The project is coordinated by Metropolia and Aalto University.
