Metropolia's innovation hubs and co-development platforms are organizing the IHME Innovation Competition for all Metropolia students at the beginning of the autumn semester 2023, 4.9.-14.9.2023.

The competition challenges interdisciplinary student teams to develop innovations in the theme of the future of housing. The teams will receive guidance and support from Metropolia experts and mentors, utilizing collaboration platforms situated across various Metropolia campuses. These platforms include the pre-incubator Turbiini, the urban farming space UrbanFarmLab, the robotics workshop RoboGarage, the smart home SmartLab, and the well-being and health services collaboration platform HyMy Village.

The competition starts on 4.9.2023, and students have 10 days to build their innovation with the assistance of Metropolia experts and mentors. Teams will present their innovations to a panel of experts from different fields during the final of the innovation competition on September 14th, 2023, at Metropolia's Arabian campus. The competition will award three winning teams with cash prizes and the winning teams will also have the opportunity to see their ideas come to life after the event.

By participating in this competition, students will not only have the chance to network with other participating teams, but also connect with industry experts and mentors, creating valuable connections for their future endeavors.

In the innovation competition, you will work in teams. It is recommended to form a multidisciplinary team to leverage diverse expertise. You can apply to the competition with a team, but each team member should register separately and mention the team name so that the team members can be connected.

If you don't have a team, you can also apply individually, and you will be assigned to a team based on your mentioned interests. The application is open from 22.5. to 31.8.2023., or until all spots are filled.
