Innovation solutions for sustainability challenges

In the spring of 2021 Helsinki-Uusimaa Regional council announced the REACT EU -funding call. The call was designed for projects that support green transformation, digitalization and the recovery of the society from covid-19.

Metropolia University of Applied Sciences like its partner universities Laurea UAS and Haaga-Helia UAS succeeded in this REACT EU-call excellently. Metropolia will coordinate 10 new research-, development and innovation (RDI) projects and it will act as a partner in several others. Totally Metropolia UAS was granted over 5M€ REACT EU-funding.

These new RDI-projects as well as the several ongoing projects accelerate the change towards a sustainable society.

The sustainable development roadmap of Metropolia has been published. It´s a detailed plan to integrate sustainable development into all our activities.

In Metropolia's five innovation hubs solutions are developed together with our partners for example to nutritional challenges, sustainable housing, individual health services and electrifying transport.
