Sudeshna Ghosh: Exploring Air Cargo Logistics in Frankfurt

Published on

Sudeshna Ghosh is studying for a master's degree in Procurement. She participated in a Blended Intensive Program organized by Metropolia`s U!REKA partner, Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences. This course included a short exchange and visit to Frankfurt. Sudeshna tells about her experiences:

"As a procurement master´s student, I was motivated to join a blended intensive course on Air Cargo Logistics hosted by Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences to understand the critical role air logistics plays in global supply chains. The programme combined virtual learning with one week of intensive on-campus study in Frankfurt, Germany, and brought together a vibrant, multicultural group of students from across Europe.

I gained insights into how the choice of air logistics in procurement decisions are deeply connected to cost, speed, nature of goods and demands of the end consumer. A highlight of the programme was a guided visit to the Lufthansa Air Cargo facility in Frankfurt which gave us an impressive view of a highly efficient, world-class and robust air cargo handling operation. The experience also strengthened my intercultural communication and collaboration skills—essential for today’s global procurement landscape.

I can warmly recommend this kind of short exchanges to anyone interested in deepening their academic and professional knowledge as well as to develop soft skills such as intercultural collaboration, networking, teamwork and problem-solving."
