Who are you and what are you studying?I am Viswak Ramesh, a first year student at Metropolia studying IT at the Karamalmi campus. I was born in India and studied in India for the most part of my life except the 3 years I was in Germany. Now I have moved to Helsinki to do my 4 year bachelors degree.
I chose IT because I feel it is the future, with almost everything around us being automated I felt that it would be a good option for a fruitful career. My dream job will be to work at Google and become a board member at Google.
I chose to study at Metropolia because it is the largest university of applied sciences in Finland and has an amazing curriculum structure with a lot of practical learning involved. Not just that Metropolia is also culturally diverse making it easy to learn and expand my knowledge.
My favourite place in campus has to be the 5th floor lobby at Karamalmi where we have bean bags and board games, and can sit with our friends and relax and take short breaks.
My favourite place in Helsinki would be the area surrounding Helsinki central station as it has everything you need in walking distance, everything from good food to amazing brands are present here.
In my free time I like hanging out with my friends, I also go to the gym regularly which is free if you are a Metka member (as they are partnered with Zone sports services to give students a lot of benefits). I also play badminton on the weekends with some of my friends.
