Finnish AI Region

The Finnish AI Region (FAIR) provides accessible expertise in artificial intelligence (AI), augmented reality (AR), high-performance computing, and cybersecurity for businesses.

As one of European Digital Innovation Hubs (EDIHs) under the EU’s Digital Europe program, FAIR aims to enhance the rapid deployment of AI in small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). It focuses on AI and related technologies to address the global shortage of expertise, the need for rapid workforce upskilling, and the development of supportive innovation frameworks.

Metropolia University of Applied Sciences significantly contributes to the FAIR project and its objectives by providing services from Helsinki XR Center:

Key Project Objectives

FAIR makes advanced technologies accessible to businesses across the region. Its services are practical, results-oriented and tailored to the specific needs of its clients. Behind these services is a network of Finland’s leading technology organisations and research institutions, providing access to world-class expertise.

Assessing needs and readiness. FAIR helps businesses assess their current state and identify their specific needs and opportunities in digital transformation, artificial intelligence and high-performance computing.

Providing expertise and strategic support. FAIR offers expert guidance and strategic support throughout the digital development process, from identifying opportunities and designing solutions to addressing regulatory requirements and implementation.

Supporting development, testing and funding. FAIR provides practical support for developing and testing innovative solutions and exploring funding opportunities. This includes access to hackathons, test environments and other development activities.
