What is this course about?

  • After completing this course, you will be able to make confident, evidence‑based and patient‑centered decisions in orthotic practice.
  • You will gain hands‑on experience with modern digital tools and technologies used in orthotic design, fabrication, and outcome monitoring, and deepen your understanding of human gait from a biomechanical perspective.
  • You will also learn to interpret motion‑analysis data, identify and correct gait deviations, and draw innovative insights from both human and animal orthotics to enhance your clinical problem‑solving and creativity.

Benefits

Expertise

Strengthen clinical expertise with evidence‑based, patient‑centered orthotic decision‑making.

Skills

Master modern digital technologies, gait analysis tools, and data-driven evaluation methods.

Experience

Gain hands-on experience in a real gait laboratory, working directly with orthotic users to identify and address gait deviations.

Course program

The program consists of five 120‑minute online lectures delivered via Teams and one full‑day, in‑person practical workshop.

The online lectures feature interactive discussions and case studies, supported by reading assignments and evidence appraisal exercises. The in-person workshop offers hands-on practice with real clients in gait laboratory settings, as well as reflective group discussions that connect the latest evidence to real clinical cases.

The course is held in English.

For the most comprehensive learning experience, we recommend attending both the online lectures and the in‑person workshop. However, if your schedule is limited, you’re also welcome to participate in just the online lectures.
