Our programme is internationally accredited by the International Society for Prosthetics and Orthotics (ISPO). Come and update, expand and deepen your professional expertise.

What is this course about?

After completing this course, you will be able to:

  1. Describe the functional anatomy and postural adaptations following lower limb amputation.
  2. Select and apply appropriate outcome measures, including both performance-based and self-reported tools, to evaluate prosthetic success.
  3. Critically appraise and apply current research evidence in your clinical decision-making.
  4. Describe current digital tools and emerging artificial intelligence (AI) applications in prosthetics and recognize their impact on the field.
  5. Identify, analyze, and correct gait deviations in prosthetic users using evidence-based strategies.

Benefits

Integrate

Integrate scientific evidence, biomechanical principles, assessment outcomes, and digital insights into structured clinical decision-making in lower limb prosthetics.

Evaluate

Choose and interpret comprehensive outcome measures to accurately assess prosthetic success and optimize patient care.

Analyze

Gain hands-on experience in identifying and correcting gait deviations using evidence-based biomechanical reasoning.

Course program

The program consists of five 120‑minute online lectures delivered via Teams and one full‑day, in‑person practical workshop.

The online lectures feature interactive discussions and case studies, supported by reading assignments and evidence appraisal exercises. The in-person workshop offers hands-on practice with real clients in gait laboratory settings, as well as reflective group discussions that connect the latest evidence to real clinical cases.

The course is held in English.

For the most comprehensive learning experience, we recommend attending both the online lectures and the in‑person workshop. However, if your schedule is limited, you’re also welcome to participate in just the online lectures. Please note that Lecture 5 is a requirement to be able to attend the workshop.

Trainers

Monika Pavlović is a prosthetics and orthotics specialist with an international professional background and a strong focus on lower limb rehabilitation. She holds a master’s degree in applied Kinesiology, which strengthens her clinical approach with advanced understanding of human movement, biomechanics, and functional assessment.

Her work bridges clinical expertise, research-based knowledge, and hands-on technical craftsmanship — where science truly meets practice.

She has extensive experience in assessment, design, fabrication, and fitting of lower limb orthotic and prosthetic solutions, working closely with clients to achieve functional, safe, and individualized mobility outcomes. Alongside her clinical work, she is actively involved in education and professional collaboration, contributing to the development of evidence-based practice in prosthetics and orthotics.

Monika is also the founder of Repaw Pet specializing in mobility solutions for animals, reflecting her broader commitment to biomechanics and functional rehabilitation across species.

Now based in Finland, she collaborates with academic and clinical partners to advance continuous professional education in lower limb prosthetics and orthotics, supporting professionals in integrating scientific understanding with practical application.
