A Master’s degree in music gives students the knowledge and skills they need for work in classical, pop, or jazz music. Graduates work as teachers, musicians, or specialists, and they are qualified for demanding teaching and development tasks. Each student chooses their focus on artistic work, teaching, or a mix of both, depending on their interests.
The Master’s programme lasts one year and includes 60 ECTS credits. The studies are designed for musicians and music educators. Teaching takes place at Metropolia’s Arabia Campus in Helsinki. The degree is equal to other Master’s degrees and gives the qualification needed for jobs that require a higher education Master’s degree.
