The education focuses on design thinking, user-oriented and responsible service design based on the principles of sustainable development. The studies include three main themes: Design Management, Product and Service Conception and Urban Design. The content has been designed in collaboration with representatives of working life.
The Service Design (Master of Applied Sciences) degree is 60 credits in scope. Half of the degree consists of a thesis, which is a working life development project.
The higher education degree program in Service Design is aimed at you if
- you are already working and have at least two years of work experience in design or service development
- you have completed a bachelor's degree in design, another university of applied sciences degree of at least 240 credits, or another applicable higher education degree
- you want to deepen and broaden your expertise in service design
- you are currently working or aspire to work in service design in the future
The higher university of applied sciences degree will prepare you for various expert, planning, development, and management positions related to service design, as well as for working as a service design entrepreneur in national and international operating environments. The degree qualifies you for positions that require a higher education degree.
This degree is only in Finnish. Teaching takes place in Helsinki at the Arabia Campus.
