Today is once again a day to remember for many students who have completed their studies at Metropolia as they celebrate their graduation on different campuses. A record number of students graduated this year, with more than 2,800 completing a Bachelor's degree and more than 400 completing a Master's degree.
The largest number of graduates were once again from Health Care and Social Services and from Technology. More than 1,100 students graduated from both faculties, with the number of Technology degrees slightly topping that of Health Care and Social Services. The number of degrees in both faculties reached a new record, as did the total number of Bachelor's degrees at more than 2,800 this year. Around 280 students completed a Bachelor's degree in Culture, while about 270 completed a Bachelor’s degree in Business.
The number of Master's degrees this year was also a new record, with more than 420 students graduating. The increase is due to the higher number of students. The number of English-language Master's degrees is estimated to be around 120, which is approximately the same as last year.
Riitta Konkola, President and CEO of Metropolia, is delighted at the results of the past year.
“My warmest congratulations to all those who graduated from Metropolia this autumn. I'm confident that the degree you received from our UAS will be valuable in the labour market. Moreover, you have adopted an attitude that is open to self-renewal and development and gained excellent tools for continuous learning. You will pass on Metropolia's competence to your future workplaces where you can use it to develop our society,” Konkola says.
